How to use this tool
Open and extract files from a ZIP archive without installing anything.
Open the Extract ZIP tool
Go to makemyzip.com/extract-zip. The page loads a JavaScript ZIP engine on demand — no extension required.
Drop the ZIP file
Drag your .zip onto the dropzone or click to pick it. The archive is read locally; nothing leaves your tab.
Browse the contents
Expand folders in the file tree to see what is inside. Each entry shows its uncompressed and compressed size.
Extract one file or all of them
Click the extract button next to a single file to download just that file, or use Extract All to repackage everything as one download.
Frequently asked questions
Does this work on encrypted ZIPs?
No — use the Unlock ZIP tool for password-protected archives. The Extract ZIP tool is for plain (unencrypted) ZIP files.
How big a ZIP can I open?
Anything your browser can fit in memory. Multi-gigabyte archives work but slow down on machines with limited RAM.
Why is Extract All a single download?
Browsers block firing many simultaneous downloads. Repackaging the contents into one uncompressed ZIP gives you the same files in one click.
Are file paths preserved?
Yes. Folder structure is kept intact when you extract. The tree view shows you the exact paths before you extract anything.
