Terms of Service

Last updated: April 15, 2026

1. What MakeMyZip is

MakeMyZip ("the Service") is a collection of free, browser-based archive utilities provided by File Toolkits ("we," "us"). The tools let you create, extract, inspect, convert, merge, split, and password-protect archive files entirely within your web browser. No files are uploaded to our servers.

2. Acceptance of terms

By using MakeMyZip, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

3. How the Service works

All archive operations run client-side in your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Your files are processed in your browser's memory and are not transmitted to any server. We do not receive, access, or store any files you process.

Because processing happens on your device, performance depends on your hardware, browser, and the size of the files you're working with. Large archives may be slow or exceed your browser's memory limits.

4. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the output of any archive operation will be free from defects.

You are responsible for maintaining your own backups. Do not use MakeMyZip as the sole means of creating critical archives without verifying the output. Always test that your archives open correctly before deleting source files.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, File Toolkits and its contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of the Service. Since all processing is local to your browser, we have no access to or control over the files you process.

6. Your responsibilities

  • You are solely responsible for the files you process and for complying with applicable laws regarding those files.
  • If you create a password-protected archive, you are responsible for remembering the password. We cannot recover lost passwords because we never receive them.
  • You agree not to use the Service for any purpose that violates applicable law.

7. Intellectual property

MakeMyZip's website design, branding, and original code are the property of File Toolkits. The underlying archive libraries (JSZip, 7z-wasm) are open-source software distributed under their respective licenses.

You retain full ownership of any files you process using the Service. We claim no rights to your files — we never even see them.

8. Advertising

The Service may display advertisements via Google AdSense, subject to your cookie consent. Ads are displayed below the tool interface and do not interfere with tool functionality. Ad scripts do not have access to the files you process.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
